I have been an avid reader all my life – I often joke I came out of the womb and grabbed a book.
When people talk about that theory that if you practice something for 10,000 hours you master it – that’s my reading skills. (I can read all 7 Harry Potter books in 27 hours.) That’s the thing I’ve mastered, and I love books. I read just about everything out there, although I gravitate most toward horror, young adult fiction, personal memoir, and magical realism.
I want to share my recommendations and responses with anyone who wants them, and is looking for their next book. I also appreciate competing opinions, and I’m always open to looking at a story from another perspective.
The name of my blog comes from work by word artist Robert Montgomery:
I found this work while I was dealing with the overwhelming grief of losing a close friend very suddenly. It provided me a sense of comfort. In regard to the blog – she was a person that I shared my book thoughts with. This blog, and it’s name, are both things that remind me to honor her, and honor the person she helped me to be – a voracious reader, who loved to share her books. I am keeping her memory, and the stories I love, alive.
